YAIGOJÉ APAPORIS: EL CORAZÓN DE LA TIERRA
Produced by the Gaia Amazonas Foundation in a region in Colombia; a region defined not only as a indigenous reserve, but also a natural park. The documentary depicts a journey through the shamanistic and cultural tradition of the ethnic groups that inhabit the region. It shows the work that these people do today to conserve and manage their territories in a sustainable way and in accordance with their traditions.
EL DORADO
El Dorado is a documentary film about the civic struggle against environmental destruction through high-risk gold mining at Europe’s largest mining project.
With a unique access to long-term residents and extensive archive material, the film tells the stories of activists criminalized for their opposition to the mining project and documents the high price of gold for the environment and human rights in Greece.
CAMINANDO POR EL AGUA
Over the last 50 years, access to water has been made exceedingly difficult for the local population of Poopó de Oruro. The mining industry settled right between the fields of the locals. Uncontrollably discarding its toxic waste in the rivers that run through and irrigate the soils of the region.
It are the women of this region that experience the contamination the most, since it is them who must supply their families. The documentary follows Virginia, Petrona, Hilaria, Adela, and Fabiana through their struggle to get water. It presents the resistance and reality in which this group of women live and how they act in search of water and justice.
